NEPA Miners to Kick Off Fourth Regular Season
Miners on road for Big North East Football Federation Debut
Scranton, PA, July 21, 2010:
The North East PA (NEPA) Miners have won twenty three games in three seasons and have duplicated that success in the community but Miners owner Dan LaMagna says the 2010 NEPA Miners are taking minor league football in the North East to the next level starting this season. Not since the Scranton Eagles has a semi pro team locally received as much national and local attention as the Miners are receiving. The Miners are positioning themselves to become the areas main football attraction.
The Miners expansion started last off season with a new Board of Directors led by Dan and Michele LaMagna, local businessmen Jason Muskey as co-owner, Thomas Finley as a Senior Advisor and former Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader Melissa Vaughn to lead the Entertainment Team. The 2010 Miners are featuring a new roster led by Wyoming Area standout Quarterback Justin Piontkowski who led the Miners to a pre season victory with 4.8 seconds left on the clock in a 33-28 battle versus the Schuylkill County Coal Crackers. The Miners are undefeated in the Anthracite Classic versus the Coal Crackers and the Coal Miners Trophy is now on display in The Mall at Steamtown!
New 2010 features include the Miners being back home at Scranton Memorial Stadium, the Miners first live television broadcast , live web streaming of games, and the Gridiron Football talk show Mondays at the Scranton Hilton. Joining the Miners Girls Entertainment Team will be the NEW Minerettes Junior Dance Team, live half time music concerts, new fan promotions, the Endless Mountain Security Big Screen TV giveaway and many more surprises that will leave the fans wanting more at the same affordable price!
The Miners (1-0 Overall 0-0 BNEFF) joined the Big North East Football Federation that offers AAA and AA levels of football with the Miners in the AAA and exploring professional expansion in 2011. The hometown NEPA Miners will travel to play the Leigh Valley Storm this Saturday July 24th 7PM to start a two game road trip before returning home to Scranton Memorial Stadium August 7th. Miners season and individual tickets are on sale now at www.nepaminers.com and at the Mall at Steamtown. Fans can also call (570) 604-GIFT for more information. 2010 NEPA Miners Football is all about the Fans, GO MINERS!
