NEPA Miners return home versus Giants and Eagles
Scranton, PA, September 28, 2010:
The NEPA Miners and Endless Mountain Security are giving away a Big Screen Television and are letting in youth football members who wear the uniform for Free this Saturday night! Our home town semi-professional football team will return to Scranton Memorial Stadium Saturday 7PM to take on the North West Giants before playing their final regular season home game the following Sunday 3PM versus the North East Eagles.
The Miners (4-5) are looking to bounce back after a tough divisional loss to the Philadelphia Panthers, a victory versus the G-Men will bring the Miners overall record to 5-5 setting up a showdown versus the Eagles. A win versus the Birds to finish the season would give the Miners a winning record while keeping the Eagles out of the Playoffs and setting up the league Tie Breaking procedure. If the Miners can win their final two games it may create a four way tie for the remaining Wild Card Spot with the Leigh Valley Storm, North East Eagles and Virginia Hornets. But none of this matters unless the Miners can hold off the Giants looking to visit Scranton Memorial Stadium and play the role of spoiler.
The Miners are looking for big games from the three headed running attack of Justin Piontkowski, Nate Bowden and Dodson Waterton who average 118 yards per game on the ground ranking them fourth in the league. Piontkowski is also fourth in the league in passing with wideouts Tyler Serbin, Davelle Byrd and Bowden leading the team in receiving. On defense, the Miners are led by Anthony Bodtman who leads the league with 7 interceptions and also leads all defensive backs with 30 tackles.
All fans that enter the game can fill out the free entry form and one fan will walk out with a Big Screen Television. General Admission tickets are $8 and are sold at the gate or at the Mall at Steamtown guest services desk. Miners will also have 2010 team T-Shirts on Sale for $7. Miners fans should be excited and expect another great game Saturday night as all Miners home games have been action packed this season, GO MINERS!
