Big Expectations for NEPA Miners 5th Anniversary Season
Scranton, PA, October 14, 2010:
The NEPA Miners did not finish the 2010 football season like they anticipated but the 2011 season looks very promising. The Miners season ended with a defeat to the North East Eagles in a game that was closer than the 27-10 score indicated. The Miners trailed 15-10 in the fourth quarter with the ball inside the five yard line but were not able to punch it in. That game gave the Miners a 5-6 overall record ending their 2010 football season.
The Miners realize there is a lot to work on in the off season, but in what was a rebuilding year, the Miners found many bright spots. The team returned home to Scranton Memorial Stadium and landed their first Television game on My Network TV, web streamed all of their games including their new Grid Iron Talk Show on the Miners web site. Scranton had a special visit from former Dallas Cowboys Super Star Erik Williams who supported the Miners and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. On the field the team replaced almost an entire roster going younger and developing new team chemistry on the field and in the community. Defensive Cornerback Anthony Bodtman, Quarterback Justin Piontkowski, Athlete Nate Bowden and many other talented individuals give the team building blocks going into the 2011 season.
The NEPA Miners organization will have an off season meeting Thursday October 14, 2010 to conclude their season and begin their off season development 6:30PM at the Scranton Hilton. The Miners intend on pioneering growth in the Big North East Football Federation, recruiting new additional coaches and players while expanding media coverage and promotions in 2011. The Miners 5th Anniversary season will be the biggest and best season yet, many off season updates, changes and roster transactions are in the works. GO MINERS!
